I am what I am and that is my evolution.
What others perceive of me is a part of their evolution.

Sinking into the mundane...

It's been many months since the last update. I've been 'busy'.

I've been busy thinking about my bank balance, spending money on bits and pieces and prostituting myself. By that I mean work. Every morning I get up at 6am (after three ten minute snoozes), walk to town and put on my uniform. (I hate the word 'uniform').

I smile at people, answer the phone and concern myself with things that are really not my concern. I'm being paid to do something well that I don't really want to do, even though I have the ability to do it well. Prostitution.(To put (oneself or one's talents) to an unworthy or corrupt use or purpose for the sake of personal or financial gain. Collins English Dictionary. )

Paula and I have now been together (again!!) for a few months. She has dragged herself 60km from Port Douglas every weekend to participate in little boat jobs. Paula has also taken over the interior decorator position with new curtains and cushions on their way.

I have 17 weeks of work and considering that it only took a 'moment' to go from a pre-schooler to an adult, going from here to a world cruiser is only a blink of an eye. It scares me shitless. I can't wait.

Though I'm doing little bits on the yacht, I feel that the real rush of preparation will start on 16 May 2004 - the day I finish work in the Hotel.

New mainsail is two weeks away. My Australian passport will arrive next week. I'm in the CCYS marina for another week and then back to the harbour, finding an anchorage.

Mentally I can feel the big change taking place. Can't wait to have time to think, write, draw, and to find the meaning of my life.

Stay with me.

Like Paula, I'm looking forward to some good shots of life. The equipment is ready. Where's the target? In the meantime we do some reflecting on life and do our best to live in this day.

If you like to know the boring stuff, it goes like this:
Took off the galley sink and the toilet.
Varnish, sand and paint.
Pulled the toilet apart and serviced it.
Bought a little plastic dinghy for a bottle or Rum. It needs a lot of work.
Paula painted the head (toilet cubicle) and I changed the oil and all the filters.
Had a new boom vang made for the boom that now sits about 200mm higher than before.
Had a hose nipple done for the rocker cover to put the crank case breather hose in there.
Still need to sort out a PCV valve to stop preassure building under the rocker cover.
Put toilet back.
Put the sink back in the galley.
Bought new cushions and material (pretty cool South American style pattern) for covers and stuff for new curtains.
Paula was going to sow them all up but ended up buying a bottle something to a workmate to do it for her.
