Boats are not unlike women...
My apologies for being honest. Maybe my comments about Paula in the last update weren't excactly tactful but that's just the way I felt at the time. Boats, you see, are not unlike women; They need a lot of tender loving care if you are to keep them. In return you get a lot of shit and a few priceless moments. (And you can quote me on that...)
I'm still continuing to define the word 'love'. I think it's a little like Heaven for a God fearing Christian. A place of eternal bliss and although well documented by many authors, it only exists in my own imagination.
There is no perfect woman, there are only perfect moments. -Lauri G.- |
So I continue to search the meaning of life, love, relationships and myself. I'm doing so with a lot more comfort now. My four new solarpanels are pumping in so much power that I can keep the fridge on all the time. This means I can finally buy fresh food and keep drinks cold. The stereo is also hooked up again, providing me that nectar of soulful music that keeps me alive even in the darkest moments.
Now I only need to reposition the boom, build a bimini shade over the cockpit, build a set of drawers, re-wire the rest of the yacht, grind some rust off under the cabinsole, tidy up, spend AUD $20.000 on gear and sail around the world. Easy, compared to the meaning of life, love and relationships. (Did you think I'm going cruising to discover new worlds around me?)
We hope to share the experience of a relationship,
but the only honest beginning or even end,
may be to share the experience of its absence.

Allan is driving Aliisa back in to the drink, as we say. Paula painted the dot com on the side and I entered the era of self-promotion. Magazine Editors and Publishers, Look at me!
Four 60W Solar panels are held down by cable ties but that's ok. The batteries are full, the fridge is cold and Lauri has a reason to smile
